I have an older filter housing that needs to be resealed. It consists of several parts that are somehow glued together, but this connection is weak now, causing the filter to leak.
I resealed the canister once already using a "Plumber's Choice" something from HD. It seemed to work well for a few months, but the water eventually worked its ways through so it started leaking again last night.
Can anyone recommend a product to glue/seal plastic parts that need to hold water?
"Amazing Goop"
You can get it at Home Depot and Rona. It's great stuff. There are several varieties, but I think they're all actually the same thing...just marketing.
Thanks for the suggestion. I finally got around to fix the FSB filter and ended up using Lepage Marine Epoxy (http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CatalogSearchResultView?D=973090&Ntt=973090&catalogId=10051&langId=-15&storeId=10051&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntx=mode+matchall&recN=118362%204294966377&N=0&Ntk=P_PartNumber). I must say that this stuff is far superior to any other glue that I have used for wet applications. It hardens within 24h and literally sticks to everything, it's not just soft sealant that you can peal off afterwards. On a positive note: it does not have the vinegary stink. Totally unproblematic with plastic. I can only recommend it!
