Title: Jobmate - Rotary Tool Kit
Post by: sdivell on September 12, 2009, 06:30:46 PM
just a heads up for the DIY'ers out there that the Jobmate rotary Tool is on for 9.99 right now at Canadian Tire.

Also the 300 pcs. accessory set is on for $12.99.

These are not high quality tools for everyday use, but for doing a few DIY jobs they are perfect.

anyone know how to make one of these waterproof?  or at least extend the cutting bit thru some hose/cable thing and water proof that part?  The idea being, you could stick it into your tank and frag with it... :)

I know the dremel kit that I got years ago has a flex shaft.
Have not tried it underwater, should work as it is over 4 feet long. :-\

Waterproof - lol ;D

I switched my tool on today - its quite loud and not very powerful compared to the Dremel - but what I absolutely didn't like is that it gets very hot after a minute or two, almost too hot to hold it. Are yours the same?

not trying to bash Jobmate or anything,  but i find alot of the tools they come out with can only handle small house projects.  my first drill was jobmate... when i think back about it i laugh.. it did the job, but not alot of power / speed.

do u think this tool would be good to split dry rock in half?

mine doesnt get too warm, but it gets warm enough ...i do agree that jobmate is brutal....but this is the only one i bought and its decent enough...i would never bought a drill or anything like that though....to scared of it exploding in my hand...i got the 300 tool kit too and alot of the stuff is cheap and breaks upon contact but can get lucky with zip discs etc...
