Title: need powerhead & lighting advice
Post by: freshfishies on January 20, 2010, 06:45:00 PM
Howdy!
I want to add a powerhead to my tank just to move the water around more. I feel as though my filter isnt' doing enough in that sense.
I've got a 75 gallon freshwater, with an Eheim Ecco Pro Easy 80 filter.
Any suggestions on improved water movement?

Also, I need a new bulb soon. Anyone have a suggestion on a good light? Maybe one that brightens up the fish colors a bit?

All comments and suggestions are welcome ;D

for fresh, im not the best person for this, but...

if for a planted tank: 4bulb t5ho.
non planted, single or double strip: power compact

powerheads: maybe a K4?

i go crazy with my filters. Most of my 70s have both an AC500 and a emperor 400 on them, or some have an AC500 and a HOT magnum 250. You can often buy a filter for the same price as a powerhead of the same size - so i generally go for more filters if i want more flow.

Aquaclear filters give you the best bang for the buck, if water flow is what you want.
