Title: Winemaking airlock as DIY C02 diffuser ?
Post by: magnosis on February 03, 2010, 08:58:06 PM
Has anyone ever tried using these as DIY CO2 diffusers ?

I have the one on the left,  thinking of putting it upside down.  Theoretically that will create 2 points of contact between gas and water, but it may just build up in pressure and let out on big bubble to the surface every now and then.

I recall seeing one of these in action, but not the details.

Just try it and let us know if it works, or do a google search. Chances are if it works someone has posted about it.

...or did you already try?

Epic failure.  Don't use this.

I ended up building this reactor (http://ovas.ca/index.php?topic=22268.0) instead, it works like a charm  8)
