Title: java and xmas moss
Post by: soleil1980 on February 08, 2010, 02:50:57 PM
what is the difference????  I bought the 2 types a while back and one of them started growing like crazy while the other one died.  I just don't know which is which.  I looked on the internet for pictures and they look very similar...  If it keeps growing that way, I will have to give some away or sell it...  How much could it go for anyway????  Thanks!

You can use this link to identify your moss: http://ovas.ca/index.php?topic=26981.0

Generally, christmas moss will grow in christmas tree branches-like, triangular patters (hence the name), whereas java moss grows in more random patterns. I can't comment on the amount of money you can make from the sales; however, java moss is more readily available in the Ottawa area, and will probably sell for less. My opinion only :)
