Title: Skimmer repair
Post by: Maxthecat on March 19, 2010, 12:12:55 AM
Hey, I just got home and my skimmer leaked  >:( , I traced the source to a crack that formed at the top, for those who have one its a reef octopus bh1000. Now its off and im gonna try to seal it. What is the best method? I was thinking either acrilic cement, hot glue or window sealent.

My vote goes to acrylic cement. One thing to watch for is the crack travelling. The only way I have stopped a crack from spreading was to drill a hole at the end of the crack.

Definately acrylic cement!

Is it a crack on a seam or in the middle of the acrylic?
