Ok so I aquired a 90 gallon tank and want to use it for freshwater............however..........it was used for salt water and has sat empty but not cleaned for a little while. What would be the best way for me to clean the coraline and salt off the glass without scratching the glass. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Single-edged razor blade. Works like magic. Hold at about a 30-40 degree angle off the glass, and move it straight into whatever you want to shave off. Watch the silicone, though, as it will shave that off as well.

Vinegar will work well to soften up the coralline algae too. You can make a solution of vinegar and soak the tank, or just soak it down and wait for 10-15 mins and go at it with a razor blade. An old credit card / petro points card (lol) works pretty well too.
If you go the razor route be careful, they can scratch the glass too.
Keep the surface wet, preferrably submerged or water flowing over it.
Vinegar will help but is usually used to soak stuff.
Thanks for all the suggestions, I did read about vinegar so went and tried the vinegar and razor blade.............came off amazingly easy, and what is around the silicone seems to be able to wash off pretty easy also. Don't think the tank has been empty for too long so maybe that helps also. So once I am done, my hubby is gonna make me fill the tank outside (in case there are any leaks) not worried however I am sure there are none..............but that way I can rinse the vinegar out of it real good!!!
