Title: The Great Whites of Our Hobby
Post by: Nelson on August 15, 2005, 07:06:12 PM
Bought 10 Zebra Danios to help with cycling my new brackish tank.  They did a fine job and I decided to reward their effort by leaving them in the tank.

I introduced a few brackish fish, Monos, Gobis including two Figure 8 puffers.  After two nights I only had one Danio left, no debris, no fish parts, nothing...just two very happy puffers with swollen bellies

I felt bad about the Danios but had I known puffers could be that preditory and voracious I would have found a more appropriate tank.

Haha. Yeup. Definitely ot surprising.

I've heard of a green spotted puffer killing gars five times the size of it. Ambushing them while they slept!

Knight Gobys kennyman.  As much as I like the puffers I think I'll put them on probation for a while - can't have them attacking any more fish.

We had puffers in with the knight gobies at Ba, and they seemed to get along fine.

Might depend on the size though.
