Hi all:
Working on my sump's plumbing today. Is it safe to use PVC "glue" to glue the pvc pipe to an ABS bulkhead, or do I need to use the ABS-PVC transition "glue"?

If it's not under pressure you're probably okay but to be safe...in short, I don't know and probably shouldn't have replied :P
I used silicone to attach my ABS pipe to ABS bulkhead because I wanted to be able to disassemble if something ever got lodged. I accidentally pulled the siliconed parts apart once and simply pushed them back together without having to redo the caulking. There is so little pressure that even push fit seems to work for me.
then again, think of what would happen if the joint failed. May as well go with the transition glue ;)

being a plumber for sure use transition glue !!!!!!! 5$ now or possibly thousands later your call
Are you sure it's an ABS bulk head?
The black ones i've seen are PVC.

The reason I was asking is because I realized AFTER gluing up the first pipe to the bulkhead. I did get the proper glue for the second bulkhead, but am just wondering what to do with the first one... I tried (really hard) to twist it and set it loose or break it and it's hard as a rock. :-S Of course it'll probably decide to work itself loose when I'm away for a week or something like that...
