Title: harquin shrimp? please?
Post by: Aine on January 29, 2011, 11:24:08 PM
I'm sure there are at least 100-150 Asteria sea stars in my tank right now. They're all over, and although I read diverging opinions on this, I recently suspected them of munchin' on my corals. Urgh. >:(
From what I understand, a harlequin shrimp will eat them. Those are neat critters!
3 questions:
-has anyone seen them in a store in the Ottawa-Outaouais area?
-if I wanted to keep one permanently, how can I acquire sea stars to feed it? can I get some frozen echinoderms somewhere?
-would a 29g be ok as a home?
Cheers!

I've seen them in a few stores around Ottawa, so they are available.

Most people who buy them end up buying chocolate chip stars for them as food; its their favourite (and also not that expensive and usually available).
