Hey, just caught this guy. Anyone know what he is? I am pretty sure a pistol as he makes the click click noise when I pissed him off taking him out..but what kind is he.
A few pictures of some hitchhikers recently.
Well after some extensive google searching and document (http://decapoda.nhm.org/pdfs/27238/27238.pdf) reading.. I think I found it!

Green Acropora commensal shrimp
Scientific name : Coralliocaris graminea
Tiny commensal shrimp very difficult to see, it lives amongst the branches of Acropora hard corals. Distinctive colour pattern, with white, green and brown longitudinal lines. 1 cm.
Other commensal shrimps share the same environment, but the colour pattern of this one is unique and distinctive.
Associated organisms
Always associated with Acropora hard corals, hidden amongst the branches, deeper during the day while at night it is possible to spot it closer to the coral surface.
Habitat: Back reef, Reef front
Distribution: Indo-West Pacific
Gorilla crab!
I have 2 of those crabs in picture 8
Hitchikers.
Been in tank for about a year, no issues as yet.
Very secretive, I see them occasionally reaching
around from behind rocks, picking
food from them.
Number 9 is cute... You could totally put him on a leash and he'd be a babe magnet!
My little rule of thumb with hitch hiking crabs - if they have red eyes, they're evil.
That's definitely not a pistol shrimp... I would have guessed a ghost shrimp, but it appears that you found the answer yourself.

haha! you want him? :P He is in my sump currently :P
I have had #9 before.
Left track marks across my acro colony.
That red eye rule is useless - any hitch hiker crab belong with a hitch hiker smasher mantis.
