Title: Where to buy replacement suction cups?
Post by: martin_jones on August 23, 2011, 03:34:57 PM
I need some new suction cups for my heater and eheim spraybar. Where in Ottawa can these be purchased from?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

I'm pretty sure I've seen them at Big Als...

They also sell replacement parts on their site. Here is their replacement parts section:

http://www.eheim.de/eheim/inhalte/index.jsp?key=downloads_28896_ehen&list=afilter

They will list the parts spearately for each pump/heater. For example, in one with a spraybar they list:

4015150 - Suction Cups with Clamps.

Most lfs carry suction cups, the trick is to find ones that last
and actually do the job.

I know they carry lots of Eheim products, and they have suction cups for other things.. I can't guarantee that they'll have exactly what you're looking for, so call first. ;)

I found a better solution to the lack of suckiness.

I put the suction cups in a cup of cold water, and microwaved it for 2 mins.

The suction cups are now as good as new. :)

Woah, neat, I'll have o give that a try! I've had minor success soaking them in a vinegar/water solution and scrubbing, but that sounds even better!

Thanks for the tip !  I'll try this as well.
I have a few suction cups that have flipped over and won't return to their original shape.
