The retail grocery store T AND T sells live freshwater fish.
Has anyone ever tried keeping them in your aquarium.
Are there any provincial laws.
I asked the stores headoffice if they would sell the fish live and its not a problem.
QUARANTINE THOSE FIRST FOR SURE!!!!!
I was thinking about keeping some of the salt water inverts in a tank once, but then decided against it.

i tried that before. they all died in 1 night. because they were all cold water species. lol
so how do they survive in their cold water tanks with at least 20 fish in 125g tanks.

You'd need one of these http://www.aquariumchillerstore.com/ (http://www.aquariumchillerstore.com/)
There are weird provincial laws against keeping wild fish in a tank. It applies to fish caught in our lakes/rivers/etc like bass, perch, sunfish - etc. I believe it also includes minnows and whatnot. I don't know how it would apply to store bought fish that are just going to be eaten otherwise, though.
I'm pretty sure that it was brought up in this forum.. maybe 6 months ago? Do a search in the forum, and I think you might find your answer and links to the actual laws (although they were very vague)
