Title: broken marineland canister filter
Post by: brotherluv on June 23, 2012, 09:55:05 PM
Has anyone ever had one break within the warranty period and had it replaced?  Mine has a 3 year warranty and is leaking profusely!  Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

Chris, if you still have the receipt you may be in luck. I had issues with some marineland stealth heaters when they were recalled and tetra/marineland gave me a bit of a hard time because I didn't have the receipts, in spite of the recall. However, I returned them to BAs with no questions asked, and they were nice enough to provide brand new replacements from any brand of my choice.

I bought it from Ricks in Renfrew perhaps I need to bring it there and see what they'll do for me.  O believe they have my invoice in their computer database.  Hopefully its that simple!

Several years ago, in the club, I bought then resold an eheim filter. I had never tried it myself. Turns out the casing was broken. I felt awful, but the person that bought it contacted the LFS, that contacted Hagen and they got a replacement case for cost.
