Title: Looking for info on peacock eels
Post by: Mishtay on June 25, 2012, 11:03:34 PM
Hello,

I am looking for information about peacock eels. I currently have a 75g tank set up with:
-3 pencilfish
-4 platys
-1 molly
-6 amanos
-5 neon tetras
-1 mountain shrimp
-3 lemons tetras
-3 head and tail light tetras
-1 hatchet
-2 SAE
-4-5 cherry shrimp

There is lots of driftwood and live plants with C02 injection and gravel for base with substrate.

Firstly, will a peacock eel get along with my fish I have already?

Also, will I have to change the gravel to sand?

What do they prefer to eat?

And well any more info will be helpful.

I had kept these guy in the past. Great guy always out and about in the tank. They like sand sub but you can get away with putting lots of tube in the tank for them to hide in. Also they will eat anything that fit in its mouth. So that mean your cherry shrimp and amano shrimp will be gone eventually. but other then that. All other fish is fine. Had to give mind away due to it was not getting along with my catfish.
