Title: An Angelbreeder happy customer
Post by: Rick on April 11, 2004, 01:29:38 PM
Hi all.
I'd like to spread the word to those who are thinking of buying Angelfish to think of Angelbreeder. . I feel his fish are far superior to many sold in pet shops and I was very impressed with his set-up. I bought seven young ones from Jean on February 23rd and they are doing extremely well way over a month after purchase. The nice thing though when buying from him was that I got to see the fish's parents as well as hundreds of other Angels of various sizes and colours; from fry to adult. We discussed feeding as well as all the other necessities of raising them to adulthood. He showed me his brine shrimp hatchery and he even fed a netful of bbs to some of the fry in order to show me how he does it.
As you can see there are bonuses to buying directly from the breeder but the best one was the price. By bypassing the middle 'person', I paid way less than what I would have paid at the pet shop, I was able to choose from hundreds of Angels, and got that personal service.

Yes, agreed. Nice fish, hence better value than purchasing from a store. We should support local breederes when justified as in this case.

I completely agree, you receive important information on feeding, water conditions, and where the parents came from. Also the fry seem to be so much more hardier and healthier, maybe because they are been born in Ottawa water...who knows.
I have purchased fry from Art Williams and Drew( Ambushman). I bought 5 fry from Drew in Nov., they have already bred and I have fry.
I purchased Maisoni fry from Art, they were only 1/8 ( correct me if I'm wrong Art) I have not lost one yet,and 4 weeks later and are now 3/4 if not bigger.
I highly recommend them for any newbies, they provided me with some very valuable advice.

actually that wouldn't be a bad idea to have something like that on this site *admins & web guys*  to have a link to a list of local breeders/what they breed and perhaps contact info, have the link named Local breeders or something similar so it stands out on the main page

I know it's not local, but this is a new site which could help find local breeders.

An excellent idea.  Any breeders wanting to be listed should email their contact info and what they are breeding (and want to sell) to

Thanks,
Rick

Hey Drew,

I just wanted to let you know that I've been trying to find ways to make it so breeders can edit their on information but no luck so far.

anyone can edit their own info by updating their own profiles. Do you breed a particular species on a regular basis? then go to the top of the a message website page, and click 'profile' 'interests' .

you can enter what you breed or your main interests there!

no but I wanted to be able to edit the info you put for the catagory "Local Breeders" not my own profile..not many people will bother looking through other people's profiles hoping to find IF they are or aren't a breeder..having a "Local Breeders" section will allow people looking for local breeders easy access to that information, but for the breeders, it would be nice if they could change their info when needed other then e-mailing you admins and putting more work on your plate
