I've been waiting patiently for our bn pleco to stop babysitting to see how many fry
had survived. Finally opted to move his barnacle to a separate tank and raise some
fry after catching the fish bug again after Mondays meeting. Hubby is less than impressed
with the additional tank ::), oh well.
First pic is dad holding down the fort,

Next two pics are fry that are the first to be free swimming.

Don't look at the dirty tank, as I mentioned it was a spur of the moment
idea to set up the tank and move MR. Pleco. This is his second spawn but
the first that the fry are albino. I have three fry from a previous spawn from him but
they are all brown, so this guy has a harem of females :o.
Anyway just thought I'd share.
Very neat!!! Awesome share!
Excited to see how the fry turn out :) Maybe you'll even have some ready for aquamania!
What are you feeding them?
Ceci
Thanks ya I was pretty pleased to see the male tending eggs again.
The newly hatched fry won't be fed til they absorb their yolk sac.
I feed a homemade food/crumble that's made by a fellow hobbyist, my snails
and plecos go crazy over it.
I would imagine this batch of fry won't be big enough for the auction but the previous
ones might be.
Congrats on the spawn :)
Thanks for sharing your photos, would be nice to see the previous batch of plecos at the auction!
;)
congratz on the spawn! i found this video some time ago! hope this helps if you want to breed more plecos! ;D

Thanks for posting that link to the video, those are some crazy big egg masses :o.
Just a quick update, dad has moved out of his barnacle and it looks like I
have about 13 fry.
And oh yes they are not albinos, but that's okay it nice to have babies anyway.
