Title: The Plant Guy
Post by: magnosis on June 10, 2013, 12:38:56 PM
http://www.theplantguy.org/

Prices look competitive. Shipped from Canada so there's no custom fees.

Is this a reputable source? Anyone had success or horror stories with them?

I've actually ordered from this place and wasn't too impressed although the service is great. It resembles a home grown operation...and the plants I got were small and had snails in them too.

The packaging was only in zip locks, no bubble wrap so the plants got squished. Even so, they all survived but it took a while to tell except for the anubia nana on the rock didn't survive at all but he's getting me a credit.

The plants grown within the Ottawa aquatic plant community are the best around. There are always some at our monthly meetings and if you have a chance to come to one of the Plantaholics, we do swaps there too.

Thanks for sharing. I hope I can make it to plantaholics one of these days.

I ordered from aqmagic.com instead of plantguy.org. Much of his catalogue was out of stock anyways. I'm getting just a few ferns and a bolbitis. If it ships well I'll try for more.

I dealt with Aquatic Magic in the past and my mosses (and equipment) arrived in good shape.
