Title: Magnum 350 filter?
Post by: HimSelf on August 26, 2013, 03:33:58 PM
hi everyone,

I am looking to buy a Magnum 350 canaster filter to polish my tank water. before I do so I was just wondering if there are other filters that can do the same job or is the Magnum 350 is my best option.

Also since this filter is fairly old where can I find one?

thanks

If you're looking for a water polisher, you'd be better to get a true diatom filter. I think they're about on par for price (don't quote me though), and I find are easier to use.

With the magnums, to run them as a water polisher you have to charge them outside your tank and they tend to make a mess blowing water everywhere when you go to switch it over. Some diatoms have recirculation valves that allow you to easily charge the filter while its in position to be used on the tank.

Take a look at this option, they're unbeatable for water clarity.
