Title: wood - were to get it
Post by: ma_clement on January 20, 2014, 06:22:48 PM
Hi

I'M looking for some wood, but most of the pieces that you can get in a store are toothpick size and ridiculously priced.

My tank is 24 x 18 x 24H and I'd like to get something that would look huge in it, with many roots everywhere, like some submersed forest

Can I get wood in the forest and do something to it to prevent it from rotting...?

Any other idea?

The problem with wood from the forest is that it isn't really prepped to go under water...it will leach so much stuff in your water.  The other option is driftwood you can find by the  river, but then God only knows what's in it from the river water.

So your best bet is to contact local sponsors, like La Niche, and ask them to get you a price for some larger drift wood.   Depending on the supplier,  you might get pictures first too.
