Looking to see if either of your ottawa locations carry the following. I frequent the kanata location, but have not yet made it out to the east end location.
• Metriaclima estherae
• Pseudotropheus saulosi
• Pseudotropheus sp. "Acei"
Looking to get between 5-8 of each. If you dont carry them, maybe you would know what time of year would be a safe bet.
Hi Mystery Snail,
The Ps. Acei we do get on a semi regular basis. The saulosi are very hard to come by these days, and I have not seen them available for several years at this point.
Which type of Met. estherae are you looking for? The standard is of course the blue male/red female, though it is uncommon to see them in stores. The more common variety is the red x red with a red male/red female. Those we have in stock most of the time.
I am not sure when any of these will be back in stock, but I can put a bug in the fishroom manager's ear to get him looking at them.
Thanks
Jody
Hey Jody
Thank you so much for the responce. I was indeed hoping to get my hands on the blue/red version. Since toronto and montreal seem to have them i was unaware they were so rare here. I have heard that the red x red strain can be more aggressive then the blue, and likes the colour variation of the males and females (same reason i like the saulosi)
In any case I visit your kanata location on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis, but if any of these become available, or if you do put it in your managers ear and you do bring some in let me know.
Again thank you for taking the time to respond. Love your stores and will continue to frequent them to see whats new
Hi Mysterysnail,
I am going to try to order some of the yellowtail acei for arrival next week, at the Innes rd location.
Just straight red x reds available from my suppliers at the moment, and currently no saulosi.
Jody
Hey Jody,
Thanks for the heads up. I"ll definitely come by.
Do you know if you ever come across pseudothropheus parralelus or Metriaclima msobo magung. Would be decent alternatives to the saulosi.
Ill call in every few days to check if the acei came in.
Thanks again, much appreciated
