Title: My mollies have the shimmys?
Post by: Big Mama on February 22, 2016, 01:12:25 PM
I did a search online  and my mollies are staying still a lot and when they swim they wobble left to right.. I read that it was lack of salt.. but I have higher salt levels in my molly tank than u do in my tropical tank that has 3 mollies in it & those three are fine.

I have tested the water and all the levels are within normal range. What else could it be and how do I help them?

Sounds fine. Often shimmys are induced by a temperature drop. Of course mollies like some salt in the water. You could try upping the temperature to 86 degrees for a week or two. This will help them fight infections. Good luck!

Sadly, despite my best efforts I am down to 1 molly in my tank. This tank has been cursed since the beginning. The only thing thriving in it are MTS.

I turned up the temperature & it looked like it was helping, then they all started dying anyway. My heart sinks seeing that solo molly.

It has 2 plattys in with it, but out of 10 fish, they are the last 3 left.💔
