Title: Experience with Current USA Satellite LED Plus Pro? Looking for new lighting.
Post by: katie on August 08, 2019, 11:25:50 AM
Hi all! I am looking for new lighting for a 50G corner tank (height is 24"). The tank came with a cover that has 2 glass panels in the centre (each panel is only 18" long) for lighting. I am thinking of getting rid of the bulb that came with the tank and buying something stronger so I can plant the tank with low/med light plants (my first time ever using real plants in a tank).

I came across the Current USA Satellite LED Plus Pro on amazon.ca, and it's right in my price range (about $150). Would one 18-24" Current USA Satellite LED Plus Pro provide enough light to reach the bottom of the tank? Does anyone have experience with this setup or advice regarding the lighting? I'd like to stay around $150 if possible.

I do not have any experience with CO2, but wouldn't be opposed to adding it. Thanks!

I have a 120 that is 24"deep and 5 feet long, 2 of these lights at 48" long each.  My plants grow okay, i am still struggling with brown algae at the lower parts and green at the higher with co2 added.  I am still a bit new to a setup of this calibre thought I would say you would probably want 2 lights...

Thanks for your input! I'll consider getting 2 of them to cover both panels. :)
