Title: Freshwater 220 g fish suggestions
Post by: Crazy4fish on December 05, 2019, 04:37:02 PM
Hello everyone! Asking for a friend lol 220gal tank in waiting room. Suggestions for peaceful community tank. The person wants a few clown loach but otherwise will rehome the 2 fish presently in there (pleco + another fish). Would like to have real plants eventually if possible. Thanks in advance. Cheryl

Some of my favourite bottom fish are corydoras. I personally just bought Julii Corys last night but with a bigger tank like that you could get any variety that peaks your interest they are a schooling fish so you need a group. As for mid level schooling, there are Cardinal tetras, neon tetras, rummy nose tetras, harlequin rasboras (or any rasbora), zebra or pearl danios (or any danio). For mid level shoaling are mollies, make sure to keep good male/female ratios though. If you are too male heavy they can be aggressive. Then my favourite top level fish are guppies or live bearers.

All these named here are non aggressive community fish (except male mollies). You could also go a more semi aggressive tank if you keep similar sized fish together. Like some tetras or barbs or dwarf gouramis can be fin nippers and bullies but are still community fish.

I hope this gives you some ideas

A tank that size, it would be neat to see scissortail rasboras or denison barbs use the space to fly around. Some gouramis get huge too and in my experoence theyre harmless.
