Title: Sick Khuli Loachs
Post by: TheCuriousPet on October 13, 2020, 11:03:14 PM
Hello!

I am bryce McKenny and I work at a pet store, and right now we have a batch of khuli loachs that have started dieing off all with similar symptoms. The fish loose color in their caudel fin and slowly shows signs of paralysis as the whole back of the loach rots away with signs of excessive bacteria growth wisbing off. They than corkscrew around the tank or sit and wait to die.
Please view the photo attached to get a good look at the affected little dudes
( all current observations made today)
If anyone has any ideas to what this is please let me know, its quite rapid and I want to get ahead of this.

Thank you!!

If it's happening that fast, i think somethings wrong with the water.  It sounds like theyre getting burned.

The gravel looks kind of rough.  Maybe their slime coats are being rubbed off from swimming within the gravel.

Good point lucius, I have heard they require sand substrate to burrow.
