I picked up a Papyrocranus afer (African reticulated / pom-pom knifefish) at the Montreal auction yesterday and I'm already delighted with this oddball. It's a bit of a jerk and seems to particularly dislike that there are bristlenose plecos in this tank as well, since they have similar preferred hangouts, but it's the most delightfully weird-looking fish I've had in some time and I'm excited for its eventual grow-out. Now I just have to get some proper carnivore food.
