Title: Help w/ Jager Heater
Post by: Aquafish on May 02, 2006, 01:32:27 PM
Hello,

Just recently purchased an Ehiem (Ebo) Jager 250Watt heater. I have another heater (preSet 300w) in the tank with the Jager. It seems as though the Jager is never on. I have set the dial to 85 and the temp of my water only gets to 81tops...its consistant but not high enough for what I need it at. The 300w has been good but cannot reach high temp w/o busting the thing. Also, it seems the the 300w does most of the work. Can anyone help with my Jager heater?

Thanks

RTFM    ;D

The manual that comes with the heater will show you how to re-calibrate it to the proper setting.

There is a blue dot on top of the unit.  Pull it upright, move the indicator to the temp your tank is actually being maintained at (81) and then push it down.

You sure your thermometer is not junk and you are indeed at 81 and not 85 degrees?

Sorry...forgot to mention that I can't find the manual for the Jager.

I am making the assumption that the Marina floating thermometer w/suction cup is reliable.

I would by another 4 dollar thermometer to confirm before starting to play with a $40 dollar heater.

PS - I think I have a hard copy of the manual somewhere... I will scan it and send you a copy   :)
