That has to be one of the more interesting uses I've seen

I may have to make one or two of these.

I kinda like this idea.  Would love to see if anyone can make them look a LITTLE more "natural", but a great idea for sure.

I like the idea but I'm not too crazy about the final look of it.

Might be a good idea to add natural rocks in there to give it a more natural look.

Same here, the final look is pretty...well...utilitarian.  Even with the effort to attach the sand...The concept of large one-door-in caves to help with captures is VERY appealing tho.

Okay   Is it just me... or does that look more like a Kitty condo ...

And what if they tumbled, fell and broke?

Lots of glass to clean up... Better make sure they're stacked securely!

I do personally like the look. I think if stacked properly it could lead to a very interesting design in the tank. Maybe even use a few filled with eco-complete to add some swords or something to the tank. Overall makes for a non-traditional yet appealing look.

But I don't like the fact that one cannot scrub algae from these...

Thanks for sharing!

I used the same method to attach gravel to some PVC pipe to create nice caves for my loaches to hide out in.  It makes for a much nicer and more natural look than plain black PVC pipe.  You can probably enclose one end if you wanted to as well.   And PVC piped don't break.  Here are some more ideas.  http://www.petfish.net/articles/Do-It-Yourself/PVC_cave_tower_instuctions.php

I like those PVC caves a lot better than the glass.
