Title: eheim aquaball, design flaw?
Post by: Underwater on June 12, 2006, 03:59:20 PM
The eheim aquaball gets rave reviews from what I've read, but never used one.  Looking at the design, however, the slits along the side of the media basket look like it would allow for significant water bypass.

Is this a problem with the aquaball?

The only slits are in the bottom section where the sponge is... the rest is solid plastic... purely aesthetic ...

The only issue I have with my Aquaballs is they are VERY effecient and require cleaning more often than I'd like ;)

Oh, from the pics I've seen they look like water intake on the sides, but on closer inspection, you're right, they are only decorative.

I'm relieved  :D
