No browser will open - IE, Chrome, Firefox.

Errol you have the original install disks and key for the disc? If so I might be able to help you out. But we would have to backup everything and possibly reinstall.

What is the speed of the machine? Memory? Hard disk? Age of the machine?

Sounds like a nasty rootkit has infected the PC. Not sure if you have access to another PC, if so you can try downloading a rootkit cleaner and copying over to the infected computer and then run a scan.
