Title: Driver and Chip Swap - 10w LED flood light
Post by: tanksalot360 on August 07, 2017, 08:49:55 AM
It started with an imported (1 of 2) 10W RGB flood lights flashing out, and finding out that the fixture would fit nicely in the feeding slot of the aquarium canopy (Hagen Waterhome).
So I replaced the power driver and 6500K led chip (cool white). And cut out the slot in the canopy.

So you know what you might be getting into: the light originally cost 8.51CAD, computer power cable (2.73), Gold Thermal Grease (1.49), 10W driver & chip (3.37), sm heatshrink x2, soldering iron, solder.
It produces a nice shimmer, and strong lighting - I'll see about growth in the coming months.
