can't really tell from the pictures.......
but if you have red type of algae......
it could be cayano Bacteria
this is an outbreak which happens with medium to fairly new set ups.
I'am sure it has been developing for quite sometime now.......You just happene to see it better with your new lights........
have you got a clean up crew.???
turbos.hermits,conch,bristle worms and other types of critters
in the tank........
you might want to get more.......!!!!!!
perhaps you have  bad water circulation ( Power heads)or a skimmer not doing its job..or overfeeding!!!!!.Check your parameters and keep us posted.

It is cyano...I have a clean up crew of numerous snails/red and blue leg crab, stomatella.....seems to be better since I changed the bulbs...they were almost 10 months old.

Hows the tank YT?

Hi Julie.........good that eventually the cayano is going away
I had that problem on my 33g tank......I think lights play a big part on that.
here is the before and right now progress of the tank.
tank is under MH lights
