I don't know who Jeffery was, but Carlton the doorman was "the" doorman for many years on "Rhoda", a spinoff of the "mary tyler moore show", a show he was both in, and a writer for.

He even got a show called "Carlton your doorman", an animated special, but now I'm really dating myself.

He later became the voice of "garfield the cat", and one of hte Jetsons.

Some of you may remember him from the  Smothers Brothers comedy hour where he played "Jerry music". And of course, who could forget his role in nickleodeon.

And yes PFG, it's fuzzy, I checked, my spectacles are clear, and it's still fuzzy, like dice from a rear-view mirror.
