Plant question - new lighting

I'll put my question first - the Cryptocoryne walkeri (lutea) is getting whitish (faded?) around the edges of the leaves, it started on the uppermost and the others are getting that way now.    Is this normal or too much lighting (?) or needs ferts?    Should I stick an iron tab underneath these, and I am planning on adding Flourish excel....should I?

The details:
I put 2 x T-5 lighting over my 29 gallon, trying to keep it low light so that I don't have to do co2.
1 18watt colormax full spectrum T5 and 1 18 watt 6700K plant lamp.

Then I went out to buy some quick growing plants and couldn't resist buying more (non fast growers).
Purchased Cryptocoryne walkeri (lutea), Microsorum Pteropus "Windeloev', Microsorum pteropus (java fern) and Hygrophila polysperma.   I split the clumps and planted all around in the gravel (normal tank gravel, nothing special).

This was all installed on the 17th.

The hygro appears to have grown a bit, and the tops of one plant have a red tinge.
The crypt walkieri has slightly whiter edges around the leaves than it did when I bought it.   This is my concern...any ideas??

Thanks for any suggestions!

You've recently changed your lighting.. and so the crypts are making you pay for that mistake  :D

Whenever there is a major change in their environment, crypts do something we like to call "crypt rot".  Some, or most, of the leaves will "melt" away.  Don't worry, its simply a bit of shock, and the plant will adapt to the new lighting levels and shoot out new leaves.

Root tabs under crypts are almost universally always a good idea.  The stem plants should do fine with just regular water changes, although a simple suppliment like Flourish Complete once a week can't hurt.

Excellent - thank you - I am glad it is a simple solution!
