Black Hair Algae

I have a tall tank, use compact fluorescents (2.5 watt/gal).

I am keeping a variety of plants so far, quite successfully may I add, except for Java Moss (I think its a temp issue as my water is at 29celcius) and Cabomba P.

The Cabomba is hard to root, when it does, the roots are black and tread like. The lower part of the plant loses all its leafes which makes it quite ugly in appareance.

Is anyone keeping any species of Cabomba in a high tank and how well is it working for you? Tips are welcome!

Cheers!

I think it is less to do with lighting, and more to your point, more to do with temp.  Tropica lists the preferred temps as 18 to 26 degrees C.

My hornwort did the same thing....
