I've got an RO/DI unit that I use every few days. My questin is: Is it ok to leave water sitting in the filtration chambers while I'm not using it, or should I be emptying them after every use?  I've been leaving it in there and just flushing out the first little bit of water I get before filing up my container. Is that a bad thing?

Thanks,
Phil

I know you can buy an adapter that flushes the chambers, they claim to increase the life of the filters. However I have had one for about 6-7 months that I dont flush and it seems to be fine. the DI is starting to turn brown a little but I think it will last the year. I dont think its a big deal but some may disagree

From what I understand you don't want your DI resin exposed to air.  Just leave the water in it, no worries at all.

salvini55, I think you are talking about a flush kit which is intended to flush your RO membrane.  "flushing" is one of those debateable discussions in the hobby.  Personally, I try to flush for 5-10 minutes every use.  In my case, my RO membrane is reducing the water from about 420'sh TDS to 13'sh, so it is taking a beating and I figure a flush can't hurt and might help prolong it's life.

+1 for leaving the water in it.
