First off, YAY!

It's a Tom Deco 3g pico setup. After initial inspection I am impressed with it overall, I had some concerns about the acrylic tank being damaged (scratched) during transport but all arrived safe and sound. I intend to pick up some LR and LSand early next week and will keep a photo journal of it here.

My only "beef" is with the lighting. The light is an 18 w 50/50 pc light, the catch is that you cannot change the bulb! Thats right its epoxied right into the fixture itself! Some may have called this a deal killer but I plan to upgrade the lighting asap anyways so for the short term it will do okay.

Keep you posted! In the meanwhile, anyone have any suggestions for coral and fish? My max lighting in the future may be 24-30watts of either t5 or pc lighting.

Vincenzo.

Get a few yasha haze and a pistol.

J

Yeah I probably will go for the goby/pistol shrimp combo. That will make up 110% of my fish livestock. I think I will be making this my "rare zooz tank". I'm looking at a pico coralife lighting that will cost 60$ and a hydor mini heater for an additional 30$. Live rock will cost 30ish and some sand too. Not including livestock this pico will have cost 180$ or so when all is said and done just to start supporting corals and livestock. Wooo butter..

J

Gonna spray paint the back black, should add some depth to the looks, no need for 360deg viewing anyways.

...180$ is a really good price for a beautifull little reef!

don't forget to post some picture when ready!

I was thinking of getting this tank but that light thing is retarded. Why would they do that. What kind of business sense does this company have.

Agreed! You have to toss the whole fixture out when you want a new bulb. DUH! Fortunately they had the sense to include a clear plastic lid for the tank so that you can just rest a fisture right on it. I'll be going for the coralife 2x18 watt pc 50/50. Should provide enough light for good zoo grow out and maybe some other stuff. I really don't want any chemical warfare in this tank so I think it'll be mostly really cool zooz and macro. and i have setteled on a goby pistol shrimp combo for livestock, some baisc cuc snails too.
