Ottawa tap water

The last few weeks, the water in Barrhaven and other areas  of the city has had a rather earthy smell to it.

Anyone know of any negative effects for freshwater aquariums?

I've done water changes once on all my tanks since it started and haven't noticed any negative effects other than my 10 gallon algea farm seems more productive.
