Hi everyone,

Have any of you tried this type of Moon lights ( see image bellow )
For some specs, follow http://www.petsandponds.com/securestore/c231289p16848853.2.html

The primary module with power supply sells for $21.99, then each add on link sells for $14.99 and can be attached every 2 feet. I checked out several online stores and the prices is pretty much all the same. I like the fact that it's a nice clean install with no retrofit, but I'm wondering how many of these I would need to cover my 75 Gal ( 48" x 18" x 21 " ) to offer just the right amount of lighting, without over flooding the tank.

Any and all comment are welcome.

the white moonlights in my current fixture suck.  they arent even bright, dont do anything for the corals.  i ended up buying the big blue coralife moonlight.

The moon lights you mention in your current fixture that su..., are they the same model as the ones I'm showing ?

What " big blue coralife moonlight " did you buy ?

i did some research and i think the current ones are all the same wattage...the coralife bulbs come in 2 sizes at bigals, one is 3/4 watt the other is 1 watt.  the 1 watt is $42 but one is more than enough for my 20gal, brightest led i've seen

I have a pair of 3/4 watt blue LEDs and I find they are quite bright but throw the light in a definite cone. They really have that point source thing happening and shimmer on the substrate which is 2 feet down! They are not the model you are showing as they are built into a coralife fixture.

I would try two of those modules. one at about 1 foot each side of center 8)

I have 2 of those exact ones in my 225 gallon they are great !!! I love them they add a nice effect to my tank

My tank is 6ft long an I think the lights span about every 2 feet so 2 should be more than enough for your tank

I recently picked up 3 of the Marina Micro LED lights from Hagen that can be mounted under the hood.  It was an impulse buy, and I thought I would take them back ... but they were pretty good.

They added a nice effect in the evening ... I bought 3 of the lights (I hate the fact the adapter is sold seperatly).  In total it came to around $60 ...

Not a bad investment.
