I bought a few odyssea lights last year and have had nothing but problems with them - including one small fire. None of them work properly anymore.

Someone said that it may have been that they where too hot, and should have been mounted on legs a few inches above my tank.

But I really dont like the look of lights suspended a few inches above the glass due to light reflection - and what the point of bright lights if you cant have them near the water - i hate wasting that energy.

Anyway - i need new lights - and I've always been happy with all-glass compact flourescent strip lights, which sit right on the tank.

- who currently sells these in ottawa for a reasonable price?

- are there other manufacturers CF lights that are reasonably priced and also sit right on the tank, and who carries those?

Im looking to buy a 6 ft, a 5 ft, and two 4 ft lights.
