I'd like to make my own pressurized CO2 setup, but need a bit of guidance as to where to begin and where to find parts.  If anybody here have successfully made their own, could you provide some details (maybe I could even stop by in the future to have a look?)

Thanks!

For a first time pressurized CO2 user, it might be a good idea to go with a pre-bundled commercial package to get your feet wet so to speak.

Any particular brand recommendations?

You will find most people either sell Milwaukee.. or stuff that is essentially re-labelled Milwaukee.  Rex Grigg sells his own setup.. a bit pricier but it comes with an LPR for extreme fine control and a solenoid that Rex so eloquently puts it "isn't a piece of crap".  Google his name and you'll find his site where he sells his setups.  eBay is another good source.  Big Al's in town carries a pre-packaged set from Red Sea.

PineHill

Instead of going with Rex Grigg's setup with solenoid etc., what would be another cheaper but comparable option.  Or would my best bet be to go with him?

Just depends , if you don`t want to buy online your choices in town are pretty slim, apart from Big als ( red sea kits) & Marinescape ( Milwaukee MA957) and maybe Aqua valley aquarium services.

On line your choices are wide open just google aquarium co2 regulator.
