Since my last post everything has settled out in my tank.  Ripped out all the rocks except the pre-fab piece, sold the Aceii, got rid of the Demasoni that was killing everyone and haven't had any deaths in the main tank for 2 weeks.  The remaining yellow lab is growing, and the two demasoni are much better and only harass each other if they come out of hiding at the same time.

So now I'm trying to figure out what to do with the tank.  I'm thinking that a species tank of saulosi might work best, or maybe some yellow labs and afra cobue's would work.  Any thoughts?

Also, has anyone had any luck sourcing saulosi or afra cobue's locally?

I haz reef tanks.

I have a bunch of yellow labs and I love them they are always a solid choice.

I think a tank of saulosi would look great!

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.  So love the people who treat you right.  Forget about the one's who don't.  Believe everything happens for a reason.  If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.  If it changes your life, let it.  Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

I think yellow labs are the most underrated cichlids out there!  The colour is awesome, they are affordable, and are very peaceful (in cichlid terms).  They also offer great contrast with almost every other African.

They seem to get overlooked sometimes because they are so common, but I say load up!

I have based all of my prospective tank choices on loving yellow labs since the first day I saw them.

BA's Kanata has come gorgeous pseudo. Elongatus Mpanga's in stock right now...anybody have any opinions on a mixed tank with a 4 yellow labs and 6 mpanga's?  I know they get to be 5" and the tank is only 36", but I plan on going nuts on the new rock work and would have tons of hiding spots.  I read on cichlid-forum that they are WAY less aggressive than demasoni and they are listed in the 55g cookie cutter, but that is based on a 48" tank.  I love fish too much to try a tank again and risk having most of them die.
