Hey everyone, here is a call to all of you DIY lighting masters. The pictures I have attached are of part of a fixture that was given to me by my previous boss. I was wondering if someone could tell me what kind of ballast I need to make these light work. Also do I need an on/off switch and if so maybe I am getting a little over my head lol.I have plug for the outlet but nothing to plug it into. One of the lights that came with these was a 40w, is there any way I can tell what strength these are rated for or is that determined by the ballast? I am kind of in the dark on this one so any info would be greatly appreciated.
-Thanks, Steve.

They look like t8 endcaps from the picture... as for the exact ballast that fits those connectors I have no idea.

Most of the higher power ballasts would use three wires for the power white black green which is the standard for a three prong plug I think... Really the bulk of cost in a diy light set up should be reflectors and the lights themselves unless your talking about a higher end ballast like icecap that overdrives bulbs.

If you don't already have a ballast, I'd sell those endcaps to someone and get a little t5 set up going.

If you really want to stick with what I think are t8's... tons of cheap ballasts that will power them. Workhorse, or even anything you'd find in home depot really. No real options for t8 HO bulbs as far as I know.. t5ho is that way to go pardon my rhyme.  8)
