I have a 4 bulb setup for my 55g long tank and one of the connections has shorted out.  When I turn on the middle 2 rows, one end of the connectors sparks and a tiny flame pops up...   Is there any way to fix this problem on my own or would I have to invest in another light setup?  I tested the 4 bulbs (x2 actinics to x2 hal) and they all work fine, same with the other 3 bulb connections.  Any suggestion or help would be much appreciated.

If it's not under warranty, you can probably fix it yourself.
Carefully disassemble it. You can buy t5 sockets.
Usually pretty standard item.I've some here but
I'm in Renfrew, but I'm sure
you can find them in Ottawa.

It could be your blast if so a replacement likely can be bought here: http://www.buchananlighting.ca/ It would be cheaper than through aquarium vendor. I bought a blast from them for a fixture it was 1/2 price from what I found on line. They are very helpful too. They also have a ton of lighting!

If the warranty is done, and you do not mind to remove the socket (make sure the ballast is disconnected first (black and white wires)). You could find a replacement socket at Buchanan or the Electrical Plumbing store. If you are not confortable by removing it, just bring the fixture to the store and they could probably change it for you for a minimal charge.
