I am going to be setting up a 40 gallon tank for Vampire Crabs.

I would like to put a horseshoe pipe which would start at the front in the water and run under the sand and then exit at the back of the tank.  The reason for wanting to do this is they like some current.  I have no problem covering the openings so the crabs cant get into the pipe, but would like to know if anyone has done this before?

I was thinking a small powerhead to push the water around the pipe which should give me good circulation without really distrubing the sand.  This is just a guess as I havent done this before.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brent

Thanks Mike, its a bit more aggressive then I was planning. I really just want something simple that will be effective enough give them close to there natural habitat.
