Of course you prefill the canister iceman, you're a rebel through and through. 

I suspect that they prefer you don't so that it creates the necessary vacuum to fill a the corners well.

ya, that surprised me and they also say to keep the outflow above water when priming it when in the newest version of the manual it says the opposite.

Anyways, I'm happily working with a dry floor and next weekend I'll do the other one after I get the next replacement o-ring.

I always prefill mine as well.  I always wanted to be a rebel, from now on I'm standing in the bath and sitting in the shower.  Will this qualify me?
