I have also had success mixing Tangs, Malawais, Haps and Peacocks in same tanks. As long as your not looking to Breed them should be no problems.

B.T.W,,, I currently have 4 different types of Shell Dwellers..
They will go in any tanks as well... i have small Brevis who believe it or not fight off large Haps and Mbumbas,, its neat to watch.. they protect their turf and their shells...
3 types of Brevis,,, (Multifasciatus, Sunspot???, and a newly discovered Wild...)  The Sunspot, i have 40+ juveniles...
Also just got a group of Ocellatus (Wild),, 3 mature males, 6 mature females... should be getting some fry from them soon i hope...

One of the key things to ensure when mixing haps/peacocks is to try and have a wide variety of colour variation.  They tend to pick on one another if they are like in colour.
