I am starting a 50 gallon for Angels and and want live plants vs silk or plastic.
I am running a 30" Aquaglow T8 bulb which I have heard not only offers a nice lighting effect but also is good for live plants.

I am looking to add some variety and have this as much planted as it is for the angel's.  I would appreciate any input on plants that would work well.  I have steered away from anything with red tinges in the past due to I didnt have the right lighting but was curious if my light is sufficient to add this color and have them survive.

Any and all help in this will be greatly appreciated

Hello Brent

I think i can offer some advise on this topic since i also have a 2 months old angelfish tank ...In general, angelfish like heavily planted tanks, with a big space to swim........  in nature, given the angel's body shape, they like to swim between plants, and many of the angels like to hide under leaves, makes them feel protected..... they also like to spawn on large leaves .... given these information .... i used LOTS of hornwort, messy i know, but whats good about them is their low light requiremenets and their length .. they also grow very fast, Valisneria family will also work perfectly, i have natans, there's another type you may find called Valisneria Tiger, it grows really long with wider leaves, if you were to plant these at the background, it is better if you place them away from the glass by a couple of inches, just for the fish to swim behind them....

Anything that grows very long is suitable ... I also use Amazon swords, for them to spawn on .... I also planted some java ferns, and windelov just for decoration.... I also have very low light on this tank, very close to 1/gallon, and no problems for now .... I hope this helps... goodluck
