Digital Aquatics is about to release a new version of their software which includes a feature which many have been waiting a long time for, myReef.

This update will allow you to program your Reef Keeper from your PC, monitor its status, etc.  The only catch is that the connection between your PC and your Reef Keeper is via USB.  This is great if your tank and PC are in the same room, but not likely for most people.

To address this, the following IOGear USB Ethernet converter can allow you to access your Reef Keeper over your home network.

I am going to be ordering one, and will be organizing a group buy to split the shipping which is approx. $13.  I will be placing my order early next week.

In addition, to upgrade your Reef Keeper you are going to have to send your SID to get the firmware upgraded.  The Canadian location to send the SIDs to is not yet know but is in Ontario.  Once the Canadian location is release, I will be organizing a group ship to that location also.

Let me know if you are interested in getting in on the purchase of the IOGear USB Ethernet convert.

Order it local, little cheaper and no shipping.  They won't have it in stock but can get it if you order it.  Won't take long.

Usually Available in 5-10 days

This is actually the distributors stock which RB orders from as well, or should atleast since there are 3 major distributors in Ontario for Computer Products.  So I would say time frame to get it is pretty easy.

I can't believe I did not think of checking with RBC.

Awesome catch!

This group buy is closed, buy it yourself ;-)

Are you positive the usb device will work with the RK?  (Not arguing, just making sure before I buy one!)  I don't have an RKL yet, but figure I can use this for other things around the house!

RossW

99.9% sure.

Ok, so you mean there is still a 0.1% chance it won't work...

J/K.  Thanks, had not seen that reply!
