I've look in all Petsmart in Ottawa for the Chem-Pur polyfiber filter floss.None to be found/avail.
Where do you guys get yours?
No not interested in paying full price @ Al...

Thanks in advance.

JD

I bought mine at Walmart in the crafts section.
You can buy mine from me as I no longer use it.
I think I have three bags.

Vincenzo.

AttiTude

Thanks for the info.
Ended up down the street at Walmart and found some.

this may sound ghetto......

but, I use unwanted pillows for filter floss. I get floss for nothing and save a pillow from going to landfill.

why run out to pay for something you may already have at home?

When I was 18 I sold vacuums door to door before I left New Brunswick... times were tough anything to make a honest buck! Any ways if you've never had the vacuum demos or scene one they often use a black cloth over the exhaust held on by an elastic or similar. Then vacuum your matterass and/or pillows then remove the cloth. If you've never scene this nasty stuff sucked up try it and you will be amazed & disgusted. There are also millions of dust mites that live there just normally not to mention whatever else might take up refuge.

We shed or skin several times a day. We also loss more than a pint of sweat on a normal day. I would 2nd guess adding this stuff to my tank filters (shudder) when trying to filter out impurities.

Uck... ;)

yeah, and all that crap goes into our tanks anyways. what do you think dust is. and you dont think dirt and cat hair and other things get in there anyways?

a fishtank is far from being the cleanest part of the house.

Another option is pillows that are really cheap at stores like Wallmart and Zellers to name a couple.  They sell for like $3-$4 and although I wouldnt use one to sleep on they are great for ripping up for the filling for filters.

I have 2 Eihem's and a Fluval, if I buy the brand name I am looking at about $140 to redo them.  Welfare or not, I would rather eat steak and buy pillows...lol

AttiTude

It's sold by the meter in the fabric section, about $2.50 linear meter  ;)
Hard to beat that.

Rob Labonte

yeah, they sell batting at fabric stores. but from the stuff ive seen (my mom used to quilt), its a little too porous. but i guess if you bunch it up,it would be ok.

AttiTude

I fold it in half and put it in between my baffles in my sump.Does a great job.I clean them bi-weekly and change them monthly.

omarshabaz

I order mine from MOPS.CA its about 6 bucks or so for a 14oz bag.
